Fonkonsult

Fonkonsult is the only company in Norway which specializes in forensic analyses of recorded speech using phonetic techniques. Fonkonsult offers support to all branches of legal and forensic science. The following analyses are carried out:

• the comparison of speech to assess the likelihood of same speaker origin

• determining what has been said in poor quality recordings

• helping with the design of voice line-ups

Fonkonsult is run by Dr. Snefrid Holm. She holds a PhD in phonetics from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and has specialized in forensic phonetics at the University of York, England. Dr. Holm was accepted as a member of the International Association for Forensic Phonetics and Acoustics (IAFPA) in 2009.
